On 7 December 2017, a brand new station was opened at Paris-Orly airport, thanks to the support of the FCH JU. Air Liquide and Groupe ADP inaugurated this new station which is launching a new clean mobility option in the Greater Paris Area.

A fuel cell generates electricity at high efficiencies and without any harmful emissions. In order to exploit its full potential, it is essential to continue improving the technology by putting in place test procedures and validation systems. Adopting such test protocols will play an important role in boosting market introduction of fuel cell technologies, as they provide customers with a reliable basis for comparison of performance.
The FCH JU Stakeholder Forum (SF) on November 22, 2017 in Brussels marked a milestone for the fuel cells and hydrogen sector: it celebrated the 10th edition of this key conference, giving the opportunity to stakeholders to look back and take stock of one of the greatest technological leaps in European Research and Innovation.
On the 22, 23 and 24 November, the FCH JU is holding its annual Stakeholder Forum and Programme Review Days in Brussels at the Steigenberger Wiltcher's Hotel. This year is a special one for our sector as it is the 10th edition of the Stakeholder Forum, bringing together a unique programme celebrating past achievements as well as looking at new developments. The special edition is followed by 2 days of the FCH JU Programme Review Days, aiming at assessing the programme's progress and highlighting main projects' accomplishments.
Joint Undertakings are key instruments to boost innovative products into the market and help addressing major global challenges. Years after their establishment, European Joint Undertakings including the FCH JU gather in the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, from 23 to 26 October.
"Fuel cell micro-CHP is a technology that is modern, innovative and enjoyed by many customers today. That's why we want to deploy it in the coming energy mix in Europe" said Fiona Riddoch from Cogen Europe as the first statement of the project ene.field final dissemination event.
The latest smart energy solution for private homes, fuel cell micro-CHP, will be showcased this Wednesday 11 October 2017 at Autoworld in Brussels, on the occasion of the European conference "Fuel Cell micro-Cogeneration: Generating Sustainable Heat and Power for your Home."
The FCH 2 JU continues to demonstrate strengths and remains relevant as funding instrument, ensuring good alignment with policy and industrial initiatives according to the European Commission published report on the ‘Interim evaluation of the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2 Joint Undertaking (2014-2016) operating under Horizon 2020’.
The evaluation was performed by an Independent Experts Group (IEG) for the European Commission.
The FCH JU ensures that its R&I activities in energy and transport are backed with the appropriate cross-cutting initiatives such as safety innovations. The latter standing as an essential of the FCH JU's portfolio, a new intiative was launched to reinforce this area with additonal support.
On the 22 September, seven cars were standing in front of the Charlemagne, showing what fuel cells and hydrogen technology can offer to transport: making vehicles that are clean, long range and fast- refueling.
